Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within the field of racial justice, community and stakeholder engagement, diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Demonstratable track record of successful strategic planning and project leadership
  • Experience in engaging and influencing a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leadership, external partners, and community groups
  • An understanding of the continuing effects of historical racism on the life chances of Global Majority Heritage communities
  • Experience in managing budgets (c£0.5m) and securing funding for initiatives
  • Experience working with a faith-based or community organisation
  • Awareness of current theological and political debates around racism and enslavement, reparatory justice, contested heritage and the concept of the proclamation of the kingdom of God

Desirable

  • Familiarity with the Church of England, its historical position, including transatlantic chattel slavery and its current on future commitments to racial justice
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluating the impact of social justice programmes
