Essential Experience and Knowledge

  • Significant experience in leading a People or HR function and a track record of developing and implementing people strategies, policies and processes.
  • A good understanding of culture change work and experience of delivering change projects.
  • A strategic and innovative thinker with strong influencing skills and confidence to work with senior colleagues and trustees.
  • In-depth knowledge of all areas of HR (recruitment, talent development, culture, reward, compliance) and in-depth knowledge HR best practice and employment law. CIPD level 7 qualified (or equivalent)
  • In-depth knowledge of diversity, equity and inclusion work and the ability to translate strategic intentions into actionable activities
  • A track record of leading and delivering change in a small - medium sized organisation.
  • A confident and experienced communicator and the ability to build relationships with a range of individuals and organisations.
  • Ability to analyse and synthesise complex information quickly and effectively and comfortable working with data.
  • Financial management skills and experience of managing budgets.
  • Experience of managing, motivating and developing staff
  • An interest in exploring alternative, non-traditional ways of working to share power and address structural inequalities.
